　　◆Technical requirements for use:

　　1. Apply the pesticide by spraying during the late tillering stage and the booting stage of rice. Use no more than once per season. 2. Fields treated with this pesticide should be deeply plowed after harvest; otherwise, subsequent crop growth may be adversely affected. Avoid excessive flood irrigation and overapplication of nitrogen fertilizer following treatment.

　　Paclobutrazol is a triazole-type plant growth regulator that inhibits endogenous gibberellin biosynthesis; it also enhances the activity of indole-3-acetic acid oxidase in rice, thereby reducing endogenous IAA levels in seedlings. It markedly weakens apical dominance in rice seedlings and promotes the proliferation of lateral buds (tillers). Seedlings exhibit a compact, robust stature with numerous tillers and dark green leaves, accompanied by well-developed root systems. Anatomical studies show that paclobutrazol reduces cell size in roots, leaf sheaths, and leaves while increasing the number of cell layers in these organs. Tracer studies indicate that rice seeds, leaves, and roots can all absorb paclobutrazol; most of the absorbed paclobutrazol remains localized at the site of uptake, with only minimal translocation to other plant parts. At low concentrations, paclobutrazol enhances photosynthetic efficiency in rice leaves; at high concentrations, it suppresses this efficiency. It increases root respiration intensity while decreasing shoot respiration intensity, raises stomatal resistance in leaves, and reduces leaf transpiration, thereby facilitating the regulation of rice growth.
